Hearing Conservation Program

Employers shall administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A-scale (slow response) or, equivalently, a dose of fifty percent. Workplace Safety Specialists can create a hearing conservation program and assist the employer in implementing the program to affected employees.  The program will be based strictly on the findings derived from a noise assessment and worker characterization.
