Chlorine Safety and Emergency Response Training

This hands-on course is designed for individuals who work with chlorine.  The course covers properties of chlorine, signs and symptoms of exposure, emergency procedures, PPE and safe handling and storage of cylinders.  Participants also examine the chemical properties, and characteristics during an accidental release, of chlorine gas and the appropriate emergency response steps to take at their facility.  Students receive the industry standards on the Chlorine Institute’s Emergency Response Guidelines for proper methods for evaluating and responding to a chlorine leak.    

Course Length:

4 hours (Awareness Course)

2 hours (Emergency Response “A” Kit Refresher Course)

4 hours (Emergency Response “A” Kit Initial Course 100 & 150 lbs. Cylinders)

2 hours (Emergency Response “B” Kit Refresher Course)

4 hours (Emergency Response “B” Kit Initial Course 1-ton Chlorine Cylinders)

2 hours (Emergency Response “C” Kit Refresher Course)

4 hours (Emergency Response “C” Kit Initial Course Bulk Tank / Rail Cars)
