This hands-on training course is designed to teach operators both theory and practical operations of how to operate heavy equipment safely.  Our heavy equipment instructors have many years of teaching and field experience on diverse types of industrial equipment to assist both new and experienced operators to work in a safe and effective manner. 

Employees are provided a Workplace Safety Specialists Student Manual to help enhance their knowledge on safe work procedures.  Upon passing a written examination, each participant performs field exercises during which a skills evaluation is conducted. An operator evaluation report and certificate of completion will be issued to participants who meet the course requirements.

Workplace Safety Specialists offers clients a wide variety of training options.  Our staff will help you design a site-specific training course that will integrate your site-specific equipment.  Each heavy equipment course offers you small class sizes and flexible training formats to minimize the impact on your work schedule.   With years of experience in coordinating this operator safety training, we can help you take care of the training needs of your new and experienced heavy equipment operators.

Our course format offers clients the ability to combine several types of heavy equipment into the instructors’ hands-on training activities.  Combination courses are available for backhoe, front-end loader, skid loader, dump truck and other heavy equipment.

There is a maximum of eight operators during hands-on field activities.  Lecture and classroom activities groups may be larger.  Depending on your organization’s equipment resources and availability, Workplace Safety Specialists will assist you in the proper equipment allocations, field activities and site selection considerations to maximize your operators’ hands-on training experience.
