OSHA 10- and 30-hour Construction Safety Training Courses

These construction safety-training courses were developed by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide construction workers, supervisors and other personnel responsible for construction activities with an awareness of construction safety and health concerns in the construction industry. 

Attendees will be taught how to read and use the OSHA Standards for Construction 29 CFR 1926 and other construction safety and health standards. Attendees receive an update and review of construction safety and health principles and information that helps them to recognize and control a variety of hazardous conditions.

Course topics include OSH Act/General Duty Clause 5 (a)(1), General Safety and Health Provisions; Competent Person, Subpart C; Recordkeeping (CFR Part 1904); Hazard Communication; Personal Protective Equipment; Scaffolding; Fall Protection; Electrical Safety; Excavations; Stairways and Ladders; Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators and Conveyors; Heavy Equipment; Tools – Hand and Power; Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal; and First Aid and Medical Emergencies.
